Stockholm Fintech Week

Sweden’s largest fintech event

Uniting everyone in the fintech community from startups to government officials, from investors to financial institutions, Stockholm Fintech Week started in 2018 and grew to be Sweden’s largest fintech event. The conference is run annually in February each year, with a week of events and two main days. There are tracks ranging from the modernity of Web3 to the importance of RegTech and fighting FinCrime. This is our flagship event and a cornerstone of the Stockholm Fintech community.

History of the event

In 2018, Anna Blyablina, Lana Brandorne and Love Dager met and discussed that Stockholm had a great fintech community, but nowhere to gather, collaborate and share their knowledge. They could envision a new future for fintech in Stockholm, getting companies in Sweden and other Nordic countries to communicate and collaborate. As there was no other organisation around that could easily take on this mission, they decided to take this into their own hands and so the first Stockholm Fintech Week conference was held 4 months later in February 2019.

The mission was for the week to be an annual, community-driven initiative focusing on knowledge sharing and building a stronger community for the Swedish fintech ecosystem – with quality and relevance as part of its core DNA.

The first event ran across 5 days with 9 different tracks: FinTech & Market leadership collaboration, RegTech, InsurTech, Digitalization, Blockchain, Sustainability & Impact Tech, Regulation & Nordic Collaboration as well as Showcases from the Nordic & Baltic Fintech and investment opportunities.

Since then, Stockholm Fintech Week has run every single year, with the tracks and themes adapting to suit the new needs of the everchanging industry. It is now Sweden’s biggest Fintech conference, with over a thousand people attending each year and countries across the globe being represented.
